IT’S A BATTLE OF THE BAR QUEENS!
Get it gurl, the best seats go fast!
Tantrums & Tiaras is first and foremost, a “FUN”RAISER, but really a camp pageant show co-founded by Matthew Ramon and his late partner, Danny Bodenmiller. The show is put on in collaboration with MOs Universe Group restaurants (Urban Mo’s, Baja Betty’s, Gossip Grill, Hillcrest Brewing Company and insideOUT) and the San Diego LGBT Community Center (The Center). This annual event draws the San Diego community to raise funds to support The Center and its multitude of programs and services. The event is also sponsored and supported by the fabulous Hillcrest community along with national sponsor brands including Absolut Vodka and Coors Light Beer. In addition, the event is made possible by the countless volunteers, contestants, and San Diegans who generously contribute their time, energy and dedication into making sure The Center receives support.
The premise is simple: each year, five to six Hillcrest bars volunteer one representative who competes for the crown! This event is not what you would see in a traditional “drag” show. Tantrums & Tiaras is a full-scale stage production. The magic of the show is watching San Diego’s finest bar personalities transform into drag divas for the very first time! Contestants strut the stage in three categories: swimwear, evening gown and perform during the talent section. Join us for an evening filled with big wigs, runny mascara, and broken heels all while gagging over the hilarious and fabulous hostess Babette Schwartz.
